QUALIFUZ™

Intermediate resistance (IR) to Fusarium 1.2

This year, after many years of high investment in research, S&G propose exclusive genetic solutions to the problem of fusarium in melon plants affecting the quality of their fruit, their productivity and their intermediate resistance to fusarium race 1.2.

Each solution can be applied to the limitations on rotation, field location and loss of yield or quality that growers have suffered due to this major disease, which is spreading fast.

The varieties with this sign combine both a high level of quality and an excellent level of intermediate resistance to fusarium 1.2.

These varieties have been the object of at least 2 years of tests carried out by Syngenta and at least one year of trials in its French experimental stations to evaluate their agronomic and qualitative performance.

Their level of resistance to fusarium 1.2 has been measured by the Syngenta Seeds laboratories and also by tests carried out in production conditions in the different geographical basins where they are grown.

Due to their resistance these new products are part of the programmes of rationalised campaign in favour of sustainable agriculture.

Finally, the taste of these varieties has been evaluated by dozens of French and European consumers who have recognised and appreciated the authentic qualities of the Charentais melon.
